Floating Floor.

A floating floor, as Buildmatic understands it, refers to a type of flooring that is NOT directly attached to the subfloor. While many floors are nailed or glued down, this can lead to sound problems if not done correctly.

When a floor is classified as floating, it rests solely on the subfloor or on an underlay or a resilient layer. It is NOT mechanically fastened down and is kept separate from adjoining walls and services through the use of a flanking band or sound isolation strip. This setup ensures that the final floor surface is entirely isolated from the building's main structure.

Buildmatic recognises the importance of proper floor installation to prevent sound issues, offering solutions that guarantee effective isolation and sound control for your floating floor projects.
